I don't think Eddie Taylor is an honest person. I had hired him to install some windows and patio doors. He asked for a deposit that was significantly more than the cost of materials. The person that actually did the work, who was either a subcontractor that he found for the lowest possible price or an employee who was ill-qualified to do the job did not adequately install the windows, broke trim without repairing or replacing it, installed windows crooked and without insulation, left gobs of caulk all over the trim and no caulk in some places where it should be, broke one of the mechanical parts of the windows, through out necessary pieces of equipment, would work for 3 hours one and then not again for several days, left trash in the yard and house, left oil stains in the driveway from a car that had a major oil leak, among many other issues. I eventually had to tell Eddie and his employeee/subcontractor not to come back after giving him ample opportunity to fix the issues. Eddie never even laid eyes on the house after providing the initial estimate to see what kind of work was done, to see the issues I had raised, etc. I absolutely would NOT recommend Eddie Taylor or Charleston Exteriors LLC.
I believe in giving credit where credit is due. About the only thing I can say for Eddie is that he didn't try to charge $10,000 more than the job was worth like several others I got quotes from, but I guess the old adage is true: 'you get what you pay for.' My recommendation if you need new windows and/or doors would be to get a quote from Eddie and Charleston Exteriors and then try to get a well-reviewed / competent contractor to match the price. In retrospect, that's what I should have done.
